“The Eight Immortals”, 1989, acrylics, pencils and Chinese ink on Arches paper, 29” x 41”; remains one of my favorite paintings. In Taoist mythology these Eight Immortals are similar to the demi-gods of Greek lore or the patron saints of early Christianity. Somewhere between gods and men they experience fantastic adventures and each has certain attributes or powers which endear them to mortals.
